Wild Thistle Kitchen: Chicken Marsala Pasta - Georgetowner

Image
Chicken Marsala Pasta is quick to prepare and packed with such harmonious flavors. Mushrooms and marsala belong together — make it and see why! Made with a handful of weeknight fridge and pantry staples, this Chicken Marsala Pasta is also one of the most flavorful dinners around. It's just as good for a quick family meal as it is for a fancy date-night at home. Feel free to customize the noodle — I love to use campanelle as you see here, but any pasta works. Mushrooms and Marsala – A Love Story I've been food obsessed my entire life, and as a result, I have lots of little notebooks full of thoughts, recipe ideas, flavor combinations and doodles. I found one the other day where I had scribbled "Mushrooms + Marsala = Love." It made me laugh and shake my head at myself, but it's so true. They are such complimentary flavors; they belong together. This Chicken Marsala Pasta allows their flavors to really shine and it couldn't be easier. Mush...

This Black Forest icebox cake is a stunning no-bake dessert - The Washington Post

Image
The icebox cake is an ideal dessert for the hotter parts of the year. At its simplest, all you need are cookies, whipped cream, a little assembly and some time in the refrigerator (a.k.a. icebox) to create this cool confection. Here, I've transformed the classic Black Forest cake into a no-bake dessert that is perfectly suited for summer — or any time of the year. Black Forest cake is a delightful combination of chocolate cake, whipped cream, cherries and kirsch or kirschwasser, a clear cherry brandy. Instead of chocolate cake, this recipe uses store-bought cookies (though you could certainly bake your own from scratch) that soften as they sit between layers of cream and take on a light and fluffy texture. Thin and crispy cookies, such as the icebox classic Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers, are best in this kind of cake. In my recipe testing, the 365 by Whole Foods Market Brownie Cookie Thins were easier to source, and one box was just enough for this recipe. Instead of a plain whip...

Dia de los Muertos: 6 Things You Should Know Before Painting Your Face - hiplatina.com

Image
When it comes to Dia de Los Muertos, there's no trick-or-treating. Latinos know that there are a lot of Hispanic traditions that we kinda sorta have to be into. While our ancestors used careteas , or masks, to scare the dead away at the end of their festivities, today we paint our faces to look like skulls that represent a deceased loved one. A lot of people associate Dia de Los Muertos with Halloween, but they are not the same. It's okay to dress up Dia de Los Muerto style for Halloween but if you're going to do it you should know the history behind this tradition. How Did Face Paintings Originate? One major element of Dia de los Muertos is la calavera de azucar, which is a sugar skull. These skulls are molded out of, you guessed it, sugar and decorated with icing, glitter, feathers, and much more. Recently, people have started to paint their faces to resemble these calaveras de azucar and some of them are pretty freaking good. These face paintings are culturally beautiful...

The Life-Changing Foundation Hack For Hiding Under-Eye Bags (It Works Instantly!) - SheFinds

Image
Under-eye bags and dark circles are one of those universal beauty problems that seem to impact everyone. Whether you're struggling to conceal the evidence of late night, or just looking to achieve a more youthful appearance, focusing on this area first is a good idea. Establishing a skincare routine with an emphasis on under-eye care can reduce the signs of aging over time, but for some people, dark circles or under-eye puffiness can be genetic. This means that the issue can't be cured with creams, gels or jade rolling alone. So, what's to be done? We've got some good news-even if you fall into this category, you can still work a little magic with makeup. We connected with celebrity makeup artist Robert Sesnek (whose clients include Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner) to discuss his life-changing foundation hack for covering under-eye bags with makeup. All concerts should mandate that every fan is 'carded' --- showing proof of a COVID vaccine or test - MarketWatch

Image
Since early 2020 we have been bobbing and weaving as the coronavirus has thrown its various variants at us. We're learning a lot of defensive moves from social distancing, masks, hygiene — and the best being the miracle of vaccines.  The music industry is uniquely positioned to be a leader for COVID vaccinations. Concert venues and show promoters must insist that all shows indoors require that customers be vaccinated and, while there is Delta and new variant spikes, to wear a mask indoors except for eating and drinking. I know our customers at City Winery locations feel much safer in rooms filled with fellow vaccinated neighbors.  (We produced a pin with the line "Fully Vaccinated, Slightly Intoxicated," which has become very popular). City Winery started enforcing the vaccine policy in New York City starting in April 2021, which has been widely supported by our customers.  While oth...

20 Easy Instant Pot Recipes That the Internet Swears By - Newsweek

Image
Instant Pots are, for some, the ultimate kitchen hack that saves time, stretches food budgets and packs in natural favour. Chef Susy Massetti says the pressure cookers' "are all the rave" online, with many fans trade recipes on social media sites such as Reddit and Facebook. "I must say that even I, with all my 'chef-ness' expertise in the kitchen, love using both," she told Newsweek. "I admit that I do not 'waste' it in silly recipes that can actually be done in a sauté pan over a stove and quickly but I love long braised dishes. "Normally done on the stove or in the oven, braised dishes require time and attention. "As a plus, with the help of these nifty tools you can transform 'poor' cuts of meat into something luscious and there is nothing better than coming home after a long day at work and finding a perfectly cooked delicious meal, hot and ready to eat." Newsweek has handpicked some of the easiest and most pop...
