Martin County North will represent Florida in the Little League World Series starting next week in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
First, the boys from Palm City will play the team from Nolensville, Tennessee, for the Southeast Region championship on Wednesday, Aug. 11.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, international teams will not travel to the Little League World Series this year. To fill those spots, the top two teams from each U.S. region will qualify for the 11-day tournament beginning Aug. 19.
Martin County North punched its ticket after beating the team from Midland, Georgia, 4-0 on Monday thanks to the bat and pitching arm of Frankie Bracaleone. A win Wednesday puts them in the Tom Seaver Championship bracket, while a loss means they will play in the Hank Aaron Championship in Williamsport.
Tennessee advanced to the regional final after beating Columbus Northern Little League from Midland, Georgia, on Tuesday. The game that started with an hour-and-a-half rain delay.
